"A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Taking that first step requires overcoming fears and uncertainties. I took my chances, learned a lot but the mesmerizing view from up here got me realizing that it's merely the beginning".
University of ULM
I went on Erasmus in October 2019 to the University of ULM in Germany for 1 whole academic year. It was an amazing opportunity for me, and the university had so much to offer. And the city it’s situated in is a very beautiful southern city of Germany with Munich and Stuttgart as its neighboring cities. A 2-hour drive to the south, you get to visit the Bavarian Alps and you would also arrive at the borders of Austria and Switzerland.
The Alps in the distant horizons
The university campus was always filled with so many students from various departments. The infrastructure of the university and the atmosphere it created for students were surprising. The accommodation that was arranged by the university was also perfect, nonetheless, the view from my window had the alps in the distant horizons. The medical faculty and the medical professionals at the university hospital were very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. I also had a great mentor who helped me out throughout my semester. The classes and the hospital shift at the university provided me with immense knowledge.
End of my ERASMUS journey
Unfortunately, in March 2020, I had to terminate my studies due to the pandemic, which was neither an easy nor a happy choice. I will always cherish the memories and experiences I had in Ulm. The best part of it all was that I got to meet a simple but sweet human, a hardcore tony stark fan, the hardworking maniac who brought new energy to my soul and I am pretty sure she is gonna hang around in my life a lot longer than I thought.
Erasmus is an experience and a great platform to make meaningful and beautiful friendships and I believe everyone must go through its wonders at least once during their university life. You never know what awaits one !
